Again an app in danger of becomming feature over loaded… It was on sale as it happened and worth every penny in all kinds of ways. I needed, since once again my life has taken a detour backwards you might say, a script writing app… I started fooling around and realized that the only sensible option was to just stump up for Final Draft.

In fact costings has come to preoccupy me a lot recently, I am not sure most of us, if any of us, can really do it as well as we think we can? I try to keep a list, it is easy to miss one though, especially the auto renewal ones. I take his point about keeping an eye on subs. It is very hard thing to really be sure of costings though I admit. I really feel I would spend well over 200$ in time on it. I have changed my stance though and frankly find it more cost effective to keep using Ulysses at $40 a year than learn a new app. I have a couple of good apps now that I wish they would just leave alone. Perhaps the posted a video on importing MindNode maps will be of help to someone else. Thanks to everyone who responded to this thread. But at the end of day that is not a showstopper for me. I still need to investigate its capacity regarding markdown, although I’m pretty sure it has sufficient capacity there. Although the interface is a bit complex the good news is that it does have the equivalent of focus mode so it is very much like writing in a plain text editor. I own the latest versions, it’s powerful, and I don’t have to pay a subscription. So, with that said I’ve decided to go back and stick with Scrivener.

I did not realize it but I can easily import MindNode maps into Scrivener and it automatically creates all of the associated documents.īecause I use MindNode rather extensively for all writing and presentation projects this will work wonderfully for my purposes. I hope I’m not the only one on this forum who sometimes feels schizophrenic when it comes to app selection!įor several months I have been wrestling with whether or not to stick with Ulysses and the associated subscription, go back to Scrivener, or consider something like iA Writer.
